Remember, since this is a Royal Pick, come back on September 27th for a chance to win an ecopy of your own!

Timid by Devney Perry
Publisher: Devney Perry (September 4, 2018)
Series: Lark Cove, 2
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Willa Doon has always been shy. Her quiet demeanor was something she’s always embraced. That is, until Jackson Page moves to town. The one man she desperately wants to take notice struggles to remember her name.

Year after year, Willa stands by, watching as the bartender slash playboy drowns his demons in beer and sex. Then one night, he shows up at her door, suddenly aware that the girl he’s seen around Lark Cove is now a beautiful woman.

Except what he doesn’t remember is that this visit isn’t his first. They spent a night together once before. A night he’s forgotten, thanks to a bottle of tequila.

A night that crushed a timid girl’s heart, and set a broken man on the path to heal them both.

Pat's Review:

This is the second in the Lark Cove Series by Ms. Perry and I couldn’t put it down! I love the characters, Lark Cove Bar, and the story Ms. Perry weaves around them.

Willa Doon is the director of Flathead Summer Camp, an oasis for kids needing a break from real life. She had saved the camp from closing by finding a buyer, and they kept her on as director. She has also been in love with the local bartender Jackson Page, since she was a teenager. He barely knows she exists, and constantly called her Willow. A brief encounter on his way home from the bar shakes Willa to her core. He’s attentive and walks her to her door and passionately kisses her. Willa’s first kiss! The next day he remembers nothing. He was drunk and had smoked some weed. Willa was done....time to move on.

Jackson loved his life in Lark Cove. He had moved there to be close to Hazel, who had saved him as a teenager. The bonus of Thea, his best friend and Charlie, her daughter made life complete. He had occasional one night stands with tourists and that was enough. Suddenly he feels drawn to Willa, shy, quiet and beautiful. He knows she had a crush on him, but when he asks her out, she slams her door in his face. What happened? There are more surprises for Jackson and Willa, some heartbreaking, some dangerous but it brings them closer together. The romance is sweet and hot.

This story can be read as a stand alone, but don’t deprive yourself of the pleasure of reading the first book, Tattered. I am anxiously awaiting the third book in the series, Tragic (Nov 27th). Ms Perry is an auto buy for me, her books are always a pleasure to read.

5 STARS!
