Waiting on Wednesday: "Token of Darkness"

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, originally started at Breaking the Spine bookblog, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating. I usually like to list a few reasons why this book made the top of my 'wish list', but it's purely up to you!
Here's my pick for the week:

Title: Token of Darkness

Author: Amelia Atwater-Rhodes

Publisher: Random House Children's Books Pub. Date: February 09, 2010 ISBN-13: 9780385737500

Synopsis (B&N): Cooper Blake has everything going for him—until he wakes from a car accident with his football career in ruins and a mysterious, attractive girl by his side. Cooper doesn’t know how Samantha got there or why he can see her; all he knows is that she’s a ghost, and the shadows that surround her seem intent on destroying her.

No one from Cooper’s old life would understand what he can barely grasp himself. . . . But Delilah, the captain of the cheerleading squad, has secrets of her own, like her ability to see beyond the physical world, and her tangled history with Brent, a loner from a neighboring school who can hear strangers’ most intimate thoughts. Delilah and Brent know that Cooper is in more trouble than he realizes, and that Samantha may not be as innocent as she has led Cooper to believe. But the only way to figure out where Samantha came from will put them all in more danger than they ever dreamed possible.

Okay, when I saw that she had a new book coming out next year, I had a bit of a fan girl moment-- and yes, there was some dancing involved! LOL. I LOVE Amelia's books, especially her older ones, and I applaud her talent and push, both of which contributed to her getting her first book published.... AT 14! Man, I wish I could have done that!

The cover looks amazing, and the plot sounds good-- I can't wait to read it! And if you haven't read any of her work yet, well then get out there and pick them up-- I especially recommend her Kiesha'ra Series! OMG, I love the writing, the world she creates, and the characters-- talk about a perfect YA series that any paranormal fan will love! :D

Oh, and expect my review for Catching Fire up by.... Friday at the latest, but I want to try and get it posted tomorrow sometime. And then I got two more books to review in the mail this week, so next week I'll be back to posting more reviews! :D

Enjoy,

Until Next Time, The Book Queen

This is on my want list too.

Although I don't know when its coming out she has another coming called All Just Glass, which is a sequel to Shattered Mirror. Very excited for that one too.

Cecile--
I love beautiful covers-- I'll admit, I'm a cover hussy, and I've been known to judge books by their covers. :D Really, if you haven't tried her books before, I would highly recommend them!

Just finished Catching Fire tonight... and WOW. That's really all that's going through my mind, along with 'What the--- NO! That's a cruel cliff hanger ending!". LOL. But I loved it!

Anna,
See, great minds think alike, right?

A sequel to Shattered Mirror? YEAH! Thanks for sharing, now I'll have to dig around and see if I can find any information, dates, cover, anything to tide me over until it comes out as well!

Mary,
I know-- heck, I'd pick it up based on the cover and author alone, but the book plot helps too! :D

Enjoy,
