~Ellie
The note on the kitchen table shatters Jay Wentworth’s world into bits. Ellie is his lover, his soulmate, his best friend…she’s the woman who stood by him through the aftermath of a horrible explosion, the woman he’s planning to propose to. He’d do anything for her…except let her go. With his fierce protectiveness kicked into overdrive, he teams up with Ellie’s Hotel Serafina boss, billionaire Wyatt Christiansen, to find her. Ellie is family at the casino and they take care of their own.
Ellie is devastated when her secret past finally catches up with her. Stupid to think she could bury the mistakes of her youth and find happiness with a good man. Leaving Jay rips her heart to shreds, but it’s the only way she can protect him from the dangerous people she once ran with. And deep down, she fears he’ll never be able to forgive her for hiding her past from him.
The closer Jay gets to the truth about Ellie, the deeper he plunges into danger. He’ll move heaven and earth to save her, but if she can’t trust in Jay’s love it might be too late for both of them.

First Surrender (#1) -- Kame
Kame's Review:
Ellie and
Jay both work for the Serafina casino in Las Vegas. They also live together.
Jay wants to make their relationship permanent and has plans to propose that
very evening. He leaves for work as Ellie is getting ready. Just before Ellie
leaves she receives a phone call; an exboyfriend. She thought for sure he would
still be in prison. He threatens to harm those she loves if she doesn’t help me
with an inside job at the casino. No knowing how else to keep her friends and
Jay, Ellie quits her job and goes on the run.
I just love
Ellie. She has a boyfriend who is former military, is a security specialist for
the owner of the casino, he is 6’5” tall and has muscles on his muscles; but
she needs to protect him so she decides to go on the run. She has a
questionable past which she is not proud of, but she did turn her life around.
She loves with such a high intensity. I love her paired with Jay. He is a take
charge guy who will do anything for his woman. He is caring but dominate at the
same time. The fact that he is so close with his brother just makes me melt
too.
This book is
a little different that other romantic suspense books I have read in that Jay
and Ellie are a couple at the beginning of the book. Even though Ellie breaks
it off with Jay, the reader knows full well he is going to track her down. This
is a short timeline for the plot as it is over just a few days. I like books
like this that don’t seem to drag things out. It also lends itself to allowing
for only pertinent details and not a lot of fluff. The plot was unique and I enjoyed every
minute. There were some definite steamy moments, and a few sweet ones too.
We get to
check in on some of our other favorite characters we met in First Surrender,
the novella that started this series. I remembered Sierra and Hayden but forgot
their story so I did a quick reread of their HEA. It is not necessary to read
it first, as this book has plenty of backstory filled in; however I do think it
will increase your enjoyment.
I truly love
this series and I can’t wait for more!

Meet Kame:
Kame is part of a family of readers; one day she picked up the Nook she purchased for her husband and discovered her love of e-books. A few months later he purchased one for her so he could have his back! Kame’s Nook is never far, and she is hard pressed to pick a favorite book, genre or author. As long as there are characters that make her want to sit down and have a chat and a plot keeps the pages turning, she’ll read it.

I'll soon be reading First surrender, so I'm glad you love that series, thanks for the review ! :D
Wow - I would be interested to hear what you think. I really enjoy this series and I am anxiously awaiting more!
Your welcome - I hope you enjoy it as much as I did
Oh, how interesting that they are a couple at the beginning of the book. I don't think I've read a romance book where that happens... I have only read one Katie Reus book and it was in her pnr series. Really don't know why I have not read more as I enjoyed her voice. I will have to check this series out. :)
Sounds good :) I'm the casino business, so this might be something I get a kick out of it :)
Thanks!
