Breaking it off with her long-time non-magical boyfriend, Evan, was for his own good. At least that's what Maggie Owen tells herself. After all, a witch and a human can have no future together. Her vision told her so. But now it seems the universe is exacting revenge for upsetting the balance of what "should be" and her heart is telling her she was wrong.
Evan Jackson can't believe his bad luck. It's been a year since Maggie broke his heart, and now his business partner has hired her as their new receptionist. Fine, they need the help. But no way will he let her get close again. He can't take another heartbreak from the woman he still dreams about, even if it feels like there's still a magical pull between them.
Being in the same building with Evan is a start, but it's going to take more than Maggie's special talents and a wink to get the hard-hearted bad-boy to see that love is really more than just cosmic nonsense and set the universe back into balance.

Pat's Review:
This is the first book in a series by debut author A.D. Marrow. It was a quick read, packed with laughter, sexy romance and delightful magic.
Maggie Owen is living with her sister Annabelle after the failure of her business and having to sell her home. She is desperate for work, and is heading to her first day at Ink and Paint for her job in Client Relations, or rather, glorified receptionist as she sees it. Ink and Paint is a tattoo shop and art gallery combined. The former love of her life, Evan Jackson, was a tattoo artist, so she feels she will be comfortable working there. Maggie has a gift.....although sometimes it feels like a curse. She is a witch. Her heartbreak started a year ago after seeing a vision that showed Evan's hopes and dreams being shattered unless, she left his life. She did, and has been miserable since.
Evan Jackson is a talented artist as well as drawing beautiful tattoos. He's in business with his close friend Liam, and enjoying his work despite the broken heart he's been suffering from since Maggie left him. Little does he know who Liam has just hired as their new receptionist. Maggie and Even's first meeting is a little explosive, but they agree they are adults, and can work it out. Which they do.......sort of.
The secondary characters are an added bonus to this novel. They each have their own story to tell, and add twists and turns that add surprise and laughs. The magic is wonderful! Who wouldn't want to be able to stop time, or warm a cup of coffee with a touch. This is an A+ read for me, and I'm anxiously awaiting the next in The Cosmic Nonsense Series.
5 STARS!
