From USA Today Bestselling Author Ava Miles of the #1 National Bestseller NORA ROBERTS LAND comes an heartwarming and suspenseful novel of love, second chances, family, and mystery about an inventive gardener who creates a magical chocolate garden for a sexy songwriter only to be swept away by the magic of their love.

Visionary gardener Tammy Hollins is making a new life for herself and her children after a tragic marriage. Plants she understands, but men…well, they’re of the weed variety. She’s started her own landscaping business, catering to her country music rock star brother’s friends. Her first client is sexy, soulful, Alpha hero material, and the one man who tantalizes her and scares her to death.

John Parker McGuiness is a man of many talents, working as a songwriter and lawyer for country music’s biggest stars. He’s drawn to Tammy like no other and hires her as his landscaper, wanting to show her they’re made for each other. When Tammy learns he’s a professed chocoholic, she fashions a magical garden for him—a chocolate garden.

As the garden comes to life, their love for each other grows. When tragedy strikes Tammy’s home, John Parker is willing to move mountains to protect her and her children. Tammy struggles to guard her newfound independence as they use the magic of the chocolate garden to help her children feel safe again. But when secrets from Tammy’s past resurface, can their love and passion survive the memories haunting her?

Pat's Review:

This is the second book in the Dare River Series, a contemporary romance with great old Southern Charm. I was happily swept up in it.

Tammy Rollins is Rye Crenshaw's sister. We met them both in the first Dare River novel Country Heaven, along with Rye's now fiancĂ©,Tory. Tammy and her two children Rory and Annabelle live with Rye and Tory, and they have asked her to create the floral arrangements for their wedding. She loves gardening, planning and planting so she jumped at the chance. She hopes to start her own landscaping business called Visionary Gardening.  Tammy has lived through a very nasty divorce from her abusive husband with a final pay off of a million dollars by Rye to get rid of him once and for all. He happily took it, but the tabloids broadcast what was supposed to be a buried secret. Now Tammy has to listen to gossip about herself and her children. The one person always there for her besides her brother is John Parker McGuiness. He is her brother's best friend and her knight in shining armor.  They have been attracted to each other for a while, but they have an unspoken understanding that moving forward slowly is the best idea if they want a relationship.

John Parker ( J.P.) is a fine southern gentleman, an attorney and has named himself Tammy's protector. He loves her children and enjoys every minute he can spend with them. He is tirelessly searching for the person that leaked Tammy's divorce information.  He wants he/she punished.

John Parker has asked Tammy to do her magic on his property also. She is thrilled at the chance to create something special and spend time with him one on one. When she realizes he is a proud chocoholic, Tammy envisions the perfect gift, a Chocolate Garden. Ms. Miles describes the plants, the colors and the scents so beautifully,  it makes you feel like you are there.  But, life's not all flowers and chocolate. There is an intruder, Tammy's mother is being more difficult than ever, family members are not being truthful and Tammy's new found independence makes her question a life with John Parker.

This novel is a delightful mix of the old and new south and an absolute pleasure to read.  I highly recommend it and the first novel in the series, Country Heaven.  Looking forward to the next in the Dare River series.

5 STARS!
