Here's my candidate for the week:

Chaos and Moonlight by A.D. Marrow
Publisher: Full Fathom Five Digital (May 6, 2015)
Series: Order of the Nines, 1
Genre: Paranormal Romance

The Nines, an elite group of vampires, was established to stand as protection for their race. Fractured by centuries of betrayal and loss, the group is now little more than myth, its remaining members scarred and shattered.

Taris, the oldest living vampire, is no stranger to loss and heartbreak. He is all that holds the Nines together as they struggle to save themselves from total extinction.

Enter the beautiful and briliant Dr. Sarah Bridgeman, whose medical research has resulted in a breakthrough for both humans and vampires. Her work may be the salvation this weary band of guardians has been looking for.

Taris needs to reach Sarah and enlist her help—before those aligned against him can act. Can a vampire king convince a stunning young scientist to save a species that isn’t even supposed to exist?

For now, only one thing is certain: no science can explain the explosive chemistry between them.

After a car accident stole his dreams of pro football, JT McKinney has made a new life for himself far away from his old one. Pat's Pick:

Hot Point by M.L. Buchman
Publisher: Sourcebooks Casablanca (August 4, 2015)
Series: Firehawks, 4
Genre: Contemporary Romance

THESE AIRBORNE HEROES BATTLE MORE THAN FLAMES

The elite firefighters of Mount Hood Aviation fly into places even the CIA can't penetrate.

FROM WILDFIRE TO GUNFIRE

Master mechanic Denise Conroy—with a reputation for being as steel-clad as the aircraft she keeps aloft—shuns useless flyboys who don't know one end of a wrench from the other.

Firehawk pilot Vern Taylor—known for unstoppable charm and a complete lack of mechanical skills—proves his talent for out-of-the-box thinking with every flight. He's a survivor and a natural-born heli-aviation firefighter.

When Denise and Vern crash together in the Central American jungle with wildfire on one side and a full-fledged military coup on the other, their newly forged partnership is tested to the max. They have each other, but not even their formidable skills combined can protect Denise and Vern from the conflagration sweeping the jungle... and their hearts.

love the picks for the week....hmm you know I can't decide which is my favorite cover...but since lately I am hooked on fire fighters the bottom one will have to do...its that or inney miney moe. I especially love forest fighters...they have balls of BALLS!! hehe. I just hope and pray I never fall in love with one...because jeez the stress of it would give me a stroke, or maybe I could join him and fight fires together and give each other strokes. haha. Hope you are having a great weekend so far...and enjoying the unpredictable weather...which it would decide what it wants to do rain or shine....it seems like its having the worst PMS lately right?

All very nice. I love the scrolls on his arm on Chaos and Midnight. I only have a few authors that I read vampires and this sounds good.

It always makes a Sunday better. :)

The_Book_Queen said...

(gasp) I didn't even notice the scrolls! How did I miss that?

The_Book_Queen said...

Triple threat, indeed! :)

Right? I can't imagine the stress that a partner must go through when he's out fighting fires. But damn it's a nice fantasy to read about. :D

Major PMS! The other day, I left to walk the dogs; it was cloudy, but no sign of rain. 15 minutes later, I was stuck a mile away from the house in a down pour! And OF COURSE the minute I made it back to my driveway, soaked, the rain stopped. >,<

I noticed the second time while I was drooling over the cover.

I'm beginning to think I'm more of a 'lusting for blurbs' gal b/c though the covers grab me, its these blurbs that have me wanting the books. haha! Nice choices, ladies!

Red Iza said...

Mmmmm, hard to choose once again, I'll take the three, please ;) And I hadn't noticed the scrolls either !

The_Book_Queen said...

Thanks, you too!

The_Book_Queen said...

Hehe. That's completely okay. I'm odd; I rarely read blurbs, even when buying a book. And sometimes I regret that later. Oops. lol

Greedy is good. :)

I love when there are little details like that on a cover, something that I have to look back at a few times to find. Makes the cover more interesting, too.
