Pat's Review:

This is the second novel by Ms. Kingwell in her Chasing Justice series. The twists and turns in this romantic suspense novel will keep you guessing till the end.

NIcky Bosko works at a homeless shelter for runaways. She finds her work rewarding and will always take the next step to offer help. Growing up, she had a difficult childhood. Her mother left suddenly when she was five, and her relationship with her father and sister has always been strained. After one dangerous mistake, she spent six months in juvenile detention, and that convinced her she needed to grow up.

Nicky is stopped in front of the shelter by a man she has no doubt is a police officer. Thinking he is investigating one of her kids she tries to brush him off. He insists on the importance of the discussion, and she accompanies him to the station. Nick is confronted with the knowledge that her mother's body has been found at an excavation site. She never left......she was murdered. The detective, Cullen Fraser, is working on this cold case without a lot of clues. Their only hope is that Nicky will remember more of what happened. Cullen and Nicky are at odds, but neither can deny the pull of attraction. Soon after Nicky is involved in an accident that nearly kills her. Cullen is convinced whoever killed her mother, is trying to silence her.

The suspect list keeps climbing, and Cullen will protect Nicky at all costs. Twists and turns keep your attention, as well as the growing relationship between Cullen and Nicky. If you enjoy romantic suspense, Extreme Pursuit is a great read.
