[Pat's Review]: "Only You"

Only You by Denise Grover Swank
Publisher: Forever (June 14, 2016)
Series: Bachelor Brotherhood, 1
Genre: Contemporary Romance

"Warm and funny, the first book in the Bachelor Brotherhood series reads like a great Hollywood rom-com." -- iBooks Best Books of June

Never say never . . .

Romance isn't an option for Holly Greenwood. With her wedding planner career on the line she needs to stay focused, and that means pleasing her demanding boss, not getting distracted by her mind-alteringly hot neighbor . . .

Ex-Marine Kevin Vandemeer craves normalcy. Instead, he has a broken-down old house in need of a match and some gasoline, a meddling family, and the uncanny ability to attract the world's craziest women. At least that last one he can fix: he and his buddies have made a pact to swear off women, and this includes his sweetly sexy new neighbor.

After one hot night that looks a whole lot like a disaster in the light of day, Kevin and Holly are about to learn that true love doesn't play by the rules . . .

Pat's Review:

Kevin Vandemeer is a former marine returning to civilian life after twelve years in the military and two tours in Afghanistan. He is settling in his old home town to be close to his sister, Megan, who is pregnant. Not to mention his parents, but his high powered Mom can be a little much. He has bought a "flip" house, or as he calls it a disaster, thanks to his sister's help. The worst of it is, he has to live in this money pit to finish it. Luckily his new job is working for his best friend's construction company, and he's hoping for a lot of help.

Holly Greenwood is a wedding planner who works for a very ambitious woman that never seems pleased with her work. She is frustrated, but needs the job to be able to keep her aging grandmother in a retirement home she loves. Holly lives with her best friend/cousin Melanie and her dog Killer.....a chihuahua. The house next door has been falling down forever, and suddenly a moving truck arrives with a drop dead gorgeous guy moving in. Encouraged by Melanie, Holly brings him dinner, and a first meeting couldn't be more hilarious. Kevin and Holly are immediately attracted.

Friends, family and laughter round this novel out. It can be read as a stand alone, and definitely worth reading. Holly and Kevin are meant to be together, but there are a lot of bumps in the road to get there.
