Whatcha Reading? (52)

A new Saturday post where you can share with us what you are currently (or just finished) reading and I will share my brief thoughts on books that I read during the previous week.

June 19th - 25th:

TBQ:

-- Cream of the Crop by Alice Clayton --

What a fun and sexy read. Loved that Natalie was unapologetic about her size and the story was NOT about her losing weight to be the beautiful woman the world never saw before (blah, blah, blah). I'll have a review, with favorite quotes, up July 4th. 4.5 STARS

Favorite quote:

I used to think abuse was someone getting hit.

Now I know it's anything that makes you double over with pain, that makes you question anything and everything about yourself that you knew to be true. It's anything that tells you that you're only good if...

-- Strong Signal by Megan Erickson and Santino Hassell -- *reread*

Just as amazing the second time around. If you want to read my review from earlier this year, find it here. ALSO, it's currently on sale for $0.99. Grab it now! 5 STARS

Favorite quote:

If my childhood taught me anything it's that people who grow up struggling will fight hard against barriers and won't let hard times knock them down.

-- Fast Connection by Megan Erickson and Santino Hassell --

GAH. UNF. YES. Grumpy older hero + smartass younger hero + emotions + sexy times + everything.

Can you tell I loved this one?

I finished this Wednesday. I'm still in the most glorious book hangover thanks to Dominic and Luke. So much love for this book, you do not want to miss it! My review will go up July 8th! 5 STARS

Favorite quote:

Luke: Why are you flipping me off?

StaffSgt: I don't know. It's like my hands don't know what else to do in pictures.

-- Play On by Avery Cockburn --

This was a decent read -- I don't really have anything to say about it either way, but I'm curious to see how the rest of the series goes, as I've heard good things about it. Quick read, a bit of a friends-to-lovers trope. It's set in Scotland. 3 STARS

The Game Plan by Kristen Callihan -- To finish off my reread of the series

A bit of a slower week this time; I was in such a hangover (and still am, really) from both SS and FC. I regret nothing.

So what are YOU currently reading?

Enjoy!
