romance novel cover, contemporary romance, Her Naughty Holiday by Tiffany Reisz

Publisher: Harlequin (November 1st, 2016)
Series: Men at Work, 2
Genre: Contemporary Romance

A feast she wasn't expecting!

Clover Greene would sooner crawl into her oven than host family for Thanksgiving dinner. Yet another annual ritual of too much food, served with a side of criticism over "Clover's Bad Life Choices." This year, she needs to distract them all—with a handsome fake boyfriend. And she has the perfect guy in mind.

Contractor Erick Fields is the poster boy for sexy single dads, and Clover has been secretly crushing on him for ages. She certainly wasn't expecting Erick to agree to her insane charade…or to add lots of hot, wicked sex to the deal. If they can pull it off, the worst Thanksgiving ever might give them something to be really thankful for!

My Review:

Clover has to host her family for Thanksgiving. Her relationship with her family is . . . not the best, and she knows her best chance of surviving the holiday is to bring a fake boyfriend to soften them up. Her teenage employee, Ruthie, sets Clover up with her dad, Erick. The two have been eyeing each other for the last year, so this is the perfect excuse to finally let the sparks fly. And man, the sparks DO fly! But the fake relationship/real sex-filled weekend quickly turns into so much more. Clover just may survive the holidays after all thanks to a man who loves working with his hands, raising his  daughter, and showing Clover that she's worth more than the snide remarks her family gives her.

"Kids are such cock blocks. That's the name of my parenting book if I ever write one, by the way."

I can't even describe to you how much fun this story was. I was smiling, snorting, or straight-up laughing for most of it. And fanning my Kindle the rest of the time. An all around win, really.

I adored Reisz's Original Sinners, and while I'm still sad that series is over, I'm so glad to see her giving us other books to dive into. Reisz proves here that she can bring the sexy and the laughs, and really what more could you even ask for?

I loved that Erick turned into such a dirty talker the more turned on he was. No, seriously,, those are even his own words:

"You should maybe stop," Erick said, and his voice was tight and hoarse, like it hurt to talk.

"Why?" she asked, her hand still on him but no longer moving.

"When I get close to coming I say really inappropriate things. And you're getting me there."

"Inappropriate how? We're in bed together. Unless you start spitting out math formulas or threatening to assassinate world leaders, I don't know what you'd say that would be inappropriate."

"I have a very dirty mouth. You don't know how dirty."

"Can I find out how dirty? Now you've got me curious."

"Okay, but don't say I didn't warn you."

This made for a hot scene (obviously) but also a nice laugh. Of course Clover's curiosity was quickly appeased:

As she slid her hand up again, she pulled him very gently and he let out a soft groan from the back of his throat.

"Fuck, that feels good...I want to pound your pussy so hard you can't walk tomorrow."

"Wow," she said, blinking. "You weren't kidding."

"It just comes out," he said. "Sorry."

"Don't say you're sorry. It was . . . sexy. Intense but sexy."

"Don't take it literally," he said, panting. "I'm not trying to fuck you. These are fantasies, not orders."

"I like your fantasies," she said, surprised by how much she did like it.

"Good, because if you keep doing that, I'll keep talking."

"Keep talking," she said. "Please keep talking..."

Spoiler: He did, indeed, keeping talking. :)

I loved Erick's interactions and relationship with his daughter, and I especially loved that he did NOT consider himself a "Mr. Mom".

He'd said he hated the term Mr. Mom because it implied that fathers who cooked and cleaned and helped with homework were exceptions instead of what they should be -- the rule.

[Later]

"Not Mr. Mom. Just Dad. Normal Dad. That's all."

I really hated Clover's family for the way they treated her, the things they said every time they turned around. But I loved when Clover finally stood up and told them all off, one by one. And then Erick defended her and did the same. I totally fist-bumped that scene while reading it.

This is a quick story, only spanning a handful of days. But I didn't feel like the HEA wasn't possible or believable in that time, probably due to a combination of them having known each other already and Reisz's pure talent.

"It's not fear. It's . . . excitement."

"No, this is excitement." He pressed his erection into her thigh again. She inhaled sharply and clung tighter to his shoulder.

"Yes," she said.

"Yes, what?"

"Yes, I want to touch you very much. Can I, please?"

"That's the politest way any woman has ever asked to rub my cock in my life. Your manners are impeccable, Ms. Greene."

"My parents raised a lady."

"Does that mean you'll stick your pinky out while you're stroking me off?"

"Probably."

"This I've gotta see."

Her Naughty Holiday is a true rom-com with a good dose of sexy and some family holiday drama thrown in. I could easily see this turned into an excellent romantic comedy movie, just saying. If you need something to make you giggle and smile from beginning to end, grab this one now! I'm looking forward to going back to book 1 before enjoying the final installment in this holiday themed trilogy in December.
