Whatcha Reading? (73)

A new Saturday post where you can share with us what you are currently (or just finished) reading and I will share my brief thoughts on books that I read during the previous week.

November 13th - 19th:

-- Daring Fate by Megan Erickson --

My review went up Tuesday and I absolutely loved Reese and Dare and this great new world Erickson's created. I cannot wait for the rest of the series! 4 Stars

-- Play of Passion by Nalini Singh -- [Audiobook, Library]

Yep, still (slowly) playing catch up with this series. As always, another great installment in the series, showing not only Drew and Indigo's story, but also adding more to the overall series arc. Though admittedly not a HUGE move forward in series arc compared to some of the other books, but still, this is a series you need to read in order to get the full experience. I loved that Drew was a bit younger than Indigo, and perhaps even a bit less dominant (though I wouldn't go so far as to call him beta or weak, by any means). It was a nice switch up as far as the dynamics. Great world building and characters, a fair amount of heat, and, of course, Singh's fantastic writing. Narration is great, too. 4 Stars

Favorite quote:

No self-respecting wolf would eat a rodent - though we might've been able to use your teeth as decorations," Andrew said with a straight face.

Teijan hissed out a very unratlike snarl. "Why the hell do I bother to talk to you?"

"Hawke thinks I give you cheese." He pulled a small, foil-wrapped wedge out of his pocket. "Here you go."

"Fuck you." But the Rat alpha was laughing.

I also finished a book for class -- Black Elk Speaks -- which I enjoyed, but is definitely nothing like the rest of my list. :)
