Tragic by Devney Perry
Publisher: Devney Perry (November 13, 2018)
Series: Lark Cove, 3
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Dual 1st POV

Kaine Reynolds wants nothing more than solitude. After an unthinkable tragedy destroys his family, he’s cut off all ties to his former life so he can battle his grief the only way he knows how.

Alone.

So when Piper Campbell knocks on his door, rambling on about being his new neighbor, he slams the door in her face.

But Kaine’s gruff demeanor doesn’t scare her. She’s set on living in Montana and starting over after a terrible divorce. And she wouldn’t mind having a fling to chase away the pain of her husband’s betrayal. Her handsome, albeit rude, neighbor is the perfect candidate.

Yet what neither of them suspect is that their no-strings affair will result in the surprise of Piper’s lifetime—and Kaine’s worst fear.

Pat's Review:

This series has grabbed me by the heart and won’t let go!

Two people trying to get over their heartaches, each in their own way. Kaine has become silent, threatening, and angry. Piper just wants to start over.

This is the third book in the Lark Cove series, and it is an emotional rollercoaster. Kaine Reynolds lives on a mountainside, doing his best to keep the world out. He has his cabin, his workshop, and enjoys his life of solitude and hard work. Until this whirlwind of a woman, perky enough to make his teeth hurt, invades his peace by moving in next door. Piper moved from New York to get away from the humiliation of a divorce that nearly broke her. She is intrigued by this mountain of a man, who is surly and not the least bit neighborly, but she sees the pain in his eyes. They are drawn to each other like magnets, both reluctant to let go.

In all this pain and sadness, Ms. Devney is able to add humor here and there to make this book even more enjoyable. If you have not read the Lark Cove Series, go out and grab it. You won’t regret it!
