Pat's Review: Ghost

Ghost by Janie Crouch
Publisher: Calamity Jane Publishing (May 21, 2019)
Series: Tactical, 5
Genre: Romantic Suspense

Everyone eventually breaks under torture.

It’s a truth elite solider and government agent Dorian Lindstrom, codename Ghost, knows firsthand. His body may have recovered from what was done to him in that Afghani prison six years ago, but his mind…not quite so much.

He’s seeing dead people.

Grace Brandt, government codename Wraith, knows her past can’t be forgiven. She has stayed “dead” for as long as she could, but now the forces she’s been fighting, the secrets slowly suffocating her, won’t stay hidden any longer.

And the man she helped break—the man she's always loved—is the only one who can stop the danger threatening them all.

When it comes to keeping the people he loves safe, including the one who thinks she’s not worthy of it, there is no danger—past, present or future—Dorian won’t battle.

The Ghost will rise.

Pat's Review:

This is the fifth book in the Linear Tactical Series by Ms. Crouch, and while each book can be read as a stand alone, not reading the previous ones means you're missing out on great action and romantic stories.

Dorian Lindstrom, known as Ghost, is a former Green Beret, captured and tortured in an Afghani prison six years ago. He has slowly returned to the land of the living thanks to a lot of psychiatric sessions and the care of his teammates in Linear Tactical, who have become his family. Severe PTSD is just one of his problems. He was captured when he lost concentration on his mission, seeing a woman he cared deeply for blown up. She shouldn’t have been there. Her name was Grace, she was known as Wraith in their Covert Black Ops team called Project Crypt. He can’t get the picture of that explosion out of his mind.

Grace Brandt, now known as Ray, did not die in that explosion but at times wishes she had. It was her fault Dorian was captured, and her plan is to warn him that the Project Crypt was not at all what it seemed. Because of the explosion, she suffers from unbearable migraines, nose bleeds, and dizziness which seem to have no rhyme or reason when they manifest. She finally reveals herself to Ghost to protect him and hope he will help with her plan to obliterate Project Crypt.

Ghost is fast paced, with lots of twists and turns that will keep you thinking. The second chance love story is hot, and catching up with the other Linear Tactical characters is very enjoyable. Can’t wait for the next in the series.

5 STARS!
