[Pat's Review]: "A Bad Boy for Christmas"

A Bad Boy for Christmas by Jessica Lemmon
Publisher: Forever (September 29, 2015)
Series: Second Chance, 3
Genre: Contemporary Romance

'Tis the Season to Be Naughty

Connor McClain knows what he wants. And after four harrowing years in Afghanistan, that's a quiet life in the lakeside town of Evergreen Cove. But coming home has land mines of its own-the most dangerous of them being long-legged bombshell Faith Garrett. Now getting her into his arms this holiday is going to require more than mistletoe . . .

With a cheating ex behind her, all Faith wants is a relaxing holiday free from man drama. And even though every moment with gorgeous Connor is a sweet temptation, Faith is determined not to give in. But Jack Frost has other plans, and soon Faith and Connor are snowbound in a winter wonderland with only the sparks flying between them to keep them warm. As one hot kiss leads to another, they'll have to decide if they're ready to give each other the best gift of all-love.

Pat's Review:

Faith Garrett had lived for three years believing she was part of a couple, wasn't exactly all sunshine and roses, but it worked. Until the day it didn't. Now she is working on being the independent woman she wants to be, she needs no man, especially someone from Evergreen Cove. Faith works for her best friend who owns an event planning business called Make it an Event. With the fall and holidays not too far off, their business is picking up. Plus, they are planning Sophie and Donavan's wedding and there happily ever after. Faith has her own apartment, and enjoys her solitude, until.....after a girls night of watching horror movies she is awakened by the sound of something scratching on her balcony door.

Connor McClain has returned from four years in Afghanistan, and is starting up his landscaping business. He survived with out any physical wounds, but the horror of things he witnessed is still getting him up at night. He has been attracted to Faith forever, but after her breakup with the moron, he is giving her some space. That is till he hears about her possible break in. He goes into warrior mode. It seems there actually was an intruder, and he's not leaving Faith alone till she's safe, even if he has to sleep on her couch. He would much prefer her bed, but knows he can't rush.

I love the characters of Evergreen Cove, and the couple's from previous Second Chance stories. The story is lighthearted, has some crazy characters, including Faith's previous boyfriend. The romance is hot, despite being stuck in a rustic cabin during a blizzard on Christmas.  This novel can be read as a stand alone, but I highly recommend the first two books in the series!
