Here's my pick for this week:
Title: People of the Fire
Author: W. Michael Gear and Kathleen O'Neal Gear
Publication Date: November 03, 2009
Publisher: Doherty, Tom Associates, LLC
Genre: Historical Romance, Historical Fiction, Native Americans
The passionate adventure begun in the best-selling People of the Wolf continues with People of the Fire, the second novel in the majestic saga of America's pioneers.
It is a time of fire. In a drought-stricken and unforgiving land, a small band of men and women struggle valiantly to keep their ancestors' dreams alive.
Little Dancer - The young dreamer whose awesome powers would change the course of history.
White Calf - The ancient medicine woman who taught Little Dancer how to harness his dreams.
Elk Charm - The beautiful maiden who won Little Dancer's heart, but feared she would lose him to his destiny.
Heavy Beaver - The false dreamer who brutalized his people in his unquenchable thirst for power.
Two Smokes - The outcast tormented by forbidden love; his gentleness concealed an inner strength.
Tanager - The young woman warrior whose courage defended a dreamer's vision.
This is technically a reprint of the book, the series came out in the early/mid 1990s, but I've never read them before, so on my wish list they go!
Honestly, I just found this one today while I was searching 'Coming Soon' romance novels on B&N and I clicked on it to read the summary, and from there, well, here it is on my WOW for the week! LOL. It sounds good, the new cover for the book looks nice, and after reading the excerpt on B&N (click HERE to read it yourself!), I'm convinced that it's one I've got to read! Along with the rest of the series, of which there seems to be about 15 or so on the authors' website! That should keep me busy reading for a while, right?
Enjoy!
Until Next Time,
