Blog Tour: Guest Post w/ Angela Castle + Giveaway!

I am a full time mother and part time writer. I live in a small country town in Victoria Australia. I have been writing ever since I learned to read, and almost endlessly drifting off into the fantasy world of my imagination.
Thankfully, I have a great group of supporting writer friends; a husband and three currently small children who help keep me grounded.
When I’m not day dreaming of creating new worlds for my stories or madly typing away on my laptop. I have plenty to keep me busy on the home front.

Why Paranormal Heroes?

Well, why not?
Let’s face it, who wants an ordinary man? Pot belly, couch potato, scratching himself, and yelling at the game? I think not.
Even if some women have married the man (*coughs*) mentioned above, (yes, even me) still, women want the fantasy of a paranormal hero.
They can run faster, live longer, see better, some change shape, some suck blood, but all in all, they are not like you and me. When they fall in love it’s huge, it’s a tsunami compared to normal waves, an avalanche not a snowfall. There’s no mistaking the metaphorical thud a paranormal hero makes when he falls for a human heroine.
They love deeply, possessively and yes, even the sex is on a blow-you-out-of-the-water scale. (*sighs dreamily*)
You can get lost in the world of a paranormal hero, feel their pain, celebrate with their triumphs, and love what they love. There is a dark, thrilling danger in being with someone who could potently, tear you to pieces or drain your body dry of blood.
Even as children we long for something bigger and better than ourselves. We pretend to be the super hero, who can fly, or save the world from evil witch or wizard.
I, and I’m sure millions of other women like myself, who consider themselves ‘plain Janes’, who have average bodies or work in dead-end jobs, dream about being suddenly snatched up by, courted or even conquered, and ravished by that ‘special hero’.
This is one of the reasons I write about paranormal, shape shifting heroes, and the fact I am a constant daydreamer. I know real life has its limitations; we live average lives.  But, every now and then, it does the soul good to indulge in a little fantasy. It’s a healthy part of the human mind. Dreaming and daydreaming, brings out our creative, and hopefully our deliciously naughty side.

Tiger Mine by Angela Castle
Excerpt

She scrubbed harder on the same spot, over and over, not really paying attention to what she was doing. A sudden knock at the door made her jump out of her skin.

"Crikey, James and Joseph!" Her heart still pounding in her chest, she climbed to her feet. She hadn't heard any car approaching. Who the heck could be at her door? Pink rubber gloves still encased her hands as she marched through the house and yanked open the front door.
Julia was stunned. She wasn't sure what the right word was, but beautiful was the only one that came to mind as she stared up into a pair of clear, pale blue eyes. She was instantly reminded of her tiger lodger. The man's ink-black hair hung to his shoulders, and he looked liked he'd been swimming. His skin was slightly pale, as if he was unaccustomed to being in the sun. His high, narrow face with symmetrical, angular cheekbones gave him a regal look. His slender nose and full masculine lips, made her wonder if they were as pillow soft as they looked. Where the hell had that thought come from?  She swallowed, noting his strong, square jaw gave him a sense of strength and power. At first glance Julia would have guessed him to be in his late twenties, maybe early thirties.
Remembering to breathe, Julia sucked in a breath and realized she'd been staring like an idiot. Her gaze dropped to his rumpled, worn clothes. The shirt had most certainly seen better days. The dark blue and black, square-patterned shirt did nothing to hide the fact the man was built.

Thanks so much Angela for stopping by-- I LOVED your post. :) I agree with every bit of it, and I think our readers will as well. I'd also like to tell you, again, how much I loved Tiger Mine--wonderful job!
I'd also like to thank Goddess Fish Tours for allowing me to participate in this tour as well as review the book. :)

Here, I'll kick off the discussion, shall I?

Oh, such a hard question--there are so many! It use to be vampires for me, but now... Well, shifters have won out all the way! :D I still enjoy the occassional well done vampire (especially BDB!), but I prefer shifters because of their sexy alpha attitudes and their strength. :)

And I even have a question for you, Angela--Do you have any plans on returning to the world you started in Tiger Mine? That is, will we see any more white tiger shifters, or do you think Mohan is the last of his kind on Earth?

Oh--and don't think I forgot, Angela! :)

Happy Birthday Hunk

Thank you Book Queen for Hosting me!
I am sorry to disappoint you, but I never meant for Tiger Mine to be a series, it was a stand alone novel. Good news is, I am working on other shifter books. Black cats have grabbed my attention. I hope, will be able to place my new story, on my coming soon list, I hope.

My aim, while writing Tiger Mine was to give the shifter world a heartfelt 'real' almost 'normal' feel, if you will.

I am thrilled you enjoyed it, and hope other will to.
Cheers
Angela Castle.

Hi sweetie. Love the Excerpt. I have this on my TBR pile.

My fave. Paranormal Hero is a any kind of Feline Shape-shifter. Usually they are powerful and super sexy alpha.

Ah, well I won't lie, I am a bit disappointed to hear there won't be more white tigers. But I was happy with Mohan and Julia's story, so that's okay. As long as you are doing more shifter novels in the future, I'm happy! Fingers crossed that they come through soon! :)

Enjoy,

Hi Angela,

Thanks for sharing a little of your writing life and I have to confess I don't know how you cope with it all and still write those wonderful stories of yours.

Can't wait to read Tiger Mine.

My favourite paranormal hero was the vampire but I've been converted to include dragons and maybe tigers in my list.

Cheers,
Margaret

Every 5-0-something "plain jane" needs a little fantasy in her life!

My favorite paranormal heroes would probably be aliens--heroes from other planets who might live disguised among us--like Superman.

Hi Angela,
I LOVE your books! I can't wait to read Tiger Mine! I love reading about your life. I don't know how you can juggle three small children, a husband, a day job and write so prolifically!

I think my fave paranormal heroes are aliens like in Blue Fire. Loved that book!

Hope you had a happy birthday :)
