2016 is nearly over. (Thank fuck, the world sighed.) Let's hope that 2017 is a good year for us all.
Today, let's focus on the GOOD things from 2016. Namely the books. 📚😍📚😍📚😍📚
There were so many fantastic books that came out this year. Pat and I shared at least a few of our favorites each month (Royal Picks). Now it's time to narrow it down even further.
It wasn't easy, but we managed to list our Top 10 2016 romances below.
Okay, it's *technically* more than 10, but only because of series/authors that were awesome across the board! 😊
Did your favorite make our lists? Let's see . . .
Pat's 2016 Favorites
This was very hard to do; I had so many books I loved. When I started choosing I realized that some of my favorite authors have multiple books in 2016.
It was a hard choice, but I think my favorite read of 2016 is Say You'll Stay by Corinne Michaels. I've read it twice, and listened to the audio as well.

All of these authors have been favorites of mine for years. Scarlett Cole was a new author to me in 2015, and is still a top favorite of mine in 2016.

TBQ's 2016 Favorites:
I can't pick a TOP top. I just can't! So below are my 10 -- er, 11, but more on that later -- favorites, in no particular order, but all highly, HIGHLY recommended.
I'm really stingy with 5 stars. I found this out while looking through my 2016 list. So a few of these are 4 1/2 that were really close to being 5 stars. Though 4 1/2 is still really, really damn good, and I had a good amount of those this year. 4 1/2, 5, it doesn't matter -- these were all top reads for me regardless!
Sidenote: My stinginess with 5 stars is funny because when I first started recording my books (pre-blog, mostly through LibraryThing), almost EVERY SINGLE book I read received 5 stars. Now it's a handful a year. And yet I rarely give out 1 or 2 stars, either. Mostly because books that WOULD be 1-2 stars are usually books that I end up DNFing rather than struggling through.
TL;DR -- I'm more likely to give between 3 and 4 1/2 Stars than anything else.
Anyway! Back to my top picks from 2016:
Strong Signal by Megan Erickson and Santino Hassell

Him by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy

Fast Connection by Megan Erickson and Santino Hassell

MacRieve by Kresley Cole
Kindle | NOOK | Kobo Goodreads Mini Review |
His Royal Secret by Lilah Pace
Kindle | NOOK | Kobo Goodreads Review |
Wicked Sexy Liar by Christina Lauren
Kindle | NOOK | Kobo Goodreads Mini Review |
Burn Down the Night by M. O'Keefe
Kindle | NOOK | Kobo Goodreads Review |
The Hating Game by Sally Thorne
Kindle | NOOK | Kobo Goodreads Mini Review |
Sustained by Emma Chase
Kindle | NOOK | Kobo Goodreads Mini Review |
Royally Screwed by Emma Chase
Kindle | NOOK | Kobo Goodreads |
The Score by Elle Kennedy
Kindle | NOOK | Kobo Goodreads Mini Review |
I know, I know, that's 11. But I couldn't decide between Emma Chases' Sustained and Royally Screwed (which I just finished yesterday), so I had to put both!
Note: His Royal Secret has a sequel which finishes their HEA, His Royal Favorite. You'll want to read both to get their full story, but of the two, I loved HRS a bit more, which is why it's the only one on this list.
A fair amount of these were audiobooks I listened to. So the high rating is just as much for the story as the narration. The audiobooks were:
Him
MacRieve
Wicked Sexy Liar
The Hating Game
Sustained
Royally Screwed
MacRieve, like the rest of the IAD series, is done by Robert Petkoff and DAMN, his voice is perfect for her books and especially the alpha heroes. 🔥😍
Sustained was done by Sebastian York. His voice is also totally eargasm worthy. Trust me. 🔥😍
The other 4 audiobooks also had great narrators -- male and female -- that I'd happily listen to again.

Tell me -- which books made YOUR 2016 favorites list?
Enjoy!
