Pat's Review:

We met Beth Martinez in Dangerous Kiss, the first book in the Layton series. She is Claire's best friend since childhood and has always had a crush on Claire's brother Hank. They are all grown up now, and Beth is still fighting the attraction.

Beth was raised by her grandmother after a horrific car crash killed her parents and very nearly killed her. She still is haunted by the memories of being trapped in the car for hours. Hank Layton is the Sheriff of Dry Creek, recently divorced and having difficulty understanding how he could be attracted to Beth, his baby sister's best friend and so off limits. Beth is an estate attorney, but some vandalism at her empty grandparents home, threatening texts and calls are starting to keep her on edge. A trip to Vegas for a conference is looking better and better. But, of course, Hank just happens to be on the same plane heading to a weekend of poker playing with his best friends. It starts out uneventful, but, it seems her stalker is nearby. She is slipped a drink that is drugged, again rescued by Hank, then they are followed and escape through an Elvis Wedding Chapel. Beth in her drugged state is only absorbing half of what's going on, not to mention her attempt at erotic seduction of Hank.

This is a delightful addition to the Laytons. Suspense, wonderful characters, hot and sexy moments and even some laughs. Very fun read and I'm looking forward to the third story Dangerous Tease.
