[Pat's Review]: "Trouble on Tap"

Trouble on Tap by Avery Flynn
Publisher: Avery Flynn (July 14, 2015)
Series: Sweet Salvation, 3
Genre: Contemporary Romance

What fun is life without a little bit of trouble?

Retired supermodel and forever wild child Olivia Sweet is nothing but trouble. The youngest Sweet triplet is back in her hometown, but instead of a triumphant return it’s a parade of humiliations. She’s broke, homeless and dealing with the fallout from her scumbag ex-boyfriend publishing naked pictures of her to a revenge porn website.

Staid and stalwart veteran Mateo Garcia has seen more trouble than a man ever should in his lifetime. He’s gone from pretty boy Marine to a small town police chief with a chip on his shoulder and scars covering the left side of his face. Now his former lover, Olivia, is back in town and living next door.

When the two are forced to work together to fix up the crumbling veterans’ center, the sparks fly between the beauty and the man who sees himself as a beast. Not everyone is happy that Olivia is back home though and Mateo has to choose between the town who wants her gone and an uncertain future with a woman who he thinks could never love him…

Pat's Review:

Each time I read one of Ms. Flynn's Sweet Salvation stories I think it's the best. This one took over 1st place for me!

Triplets Miranda, Natalie and Olivia have inherited their uncle's dying brewery and Natalie and Miranda have brought it back to life, with the help of their new lovers. Olivia Sweet is heading home but not with the fanfare she hoped. Her career as a super model is over. Thanks to her sleazy ex boyfriend, the marketing job she enjoyed is gone, along with everything else she owned. She's heading home to the town that hates the Sweet's and she's homeless and penniless. She once had a fabulous life which included regular secret getaways with the "Casanova of Salvation" Mateo Garcia, Recon Marine. That is until she confessed she was falling for him and his devastating last trip to Afghanistan.

Mateo loved his life in the Marines until an IED changed his body and his soul forever. He was the only survivor and carries the guilt. He's back home in Salvation, now Chief of Police and hiding from the world. The scars on his face and body seem to define him.....until Olivia Sweet comes back to town.

This story engaged me from the first page. Mateo is hiding behind a very grumpy exterior, hoping Olivia will realize whatever they had before is gone, despite his body and mind craving her. Luciana, his little sister and Olivia's best friend will have none of it, and brings them together every way she can.  A project they both feel strongly about just might push them together, but someone is working very hard to ruin it.

I read this book straight through, couldn't put it down! The Sweet triplets are together again......will Salvation, Virginia be the same?

5 STARS!
